Round Rock Earns Back-to-Back Wins Over Tacoma

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Round Rock started the scoring in the bottom of the second. RF Trevor Hauver got aboard with a single then 2B Alan Trejo cleared the bags with a two-run homer. Later, LF Alex De Goti drove DH Billy McKinney in with a single and the Express led 3-0 after two.

The Express plated two more in the sixth on Trejo’s RBI double and an RBI single from C Cooper Johnson, extending Round Rock’s lead to 5-0.

Tacoma got on the board in the top of the seventh. CF Leody Taveras singled and DH Austin Shenton drew a walk, setting up C Blake Hunt for an RBI single.

In the bottom of the seventh, Round Rock PH Cody Freeman delivered a two-run single through the left side to scratch two more runs across. 1B Blaine Crim, who reached via an intentional walk, later scored on a 2B Samad Taylor throwing error moving the E-Train advantage to 8-1.

RHP Codi Heuer shut the door for Round Rock tossing a scoreless ninth as the E-Train took a series lead in Thursday’s 8-1 victory.

E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:

WELCOME BACK, AIDAN: RHP Aidan Anderson earned his first win at the Triple-A level since August 9, 2024. Anderson threw 2.0 scoreless innings out of the bullpen, allowing one hit and struck out one batter. In two appearances with Round Rock this year, Anderson has allowed two hits, one run and struck out three batters without issuing a walk.

EXTRA-BASES ALAN: 2B Alan Trejo led the Express with his second homer in as many days. Trejo went 2-for-4 with two extra-base hits, three RBI and two runs scored on Thursday night.

OFFENSE IS CLICKING: Through the first three games of the series, the Express have outscored the Rainiers 24-10 with 36 hits compared to 29 for Tacoma.
