HOW IT HAPPENED:

Round Rock CF Michael Helman led off the bottom of the first with a solo home run to give the E-Train a 1-0 edge.

The Express plated three more runs in the third. Helman and 1B Blaine Crim belted back-to-back doubles and 3B Cody Freeman drove Crim in with a single, extending the lead to 4-0.

Helman tallied his third hit and third RBI on his single in the fourth. Crim sent the next pitch off of the home run porch with a three-run shot to make it 8-0.

In the top of the fifth, Tacoma 2B Samad Taylor drove 3B Jack Lopez in with a single and C Harry Ford notched a sacrifice fly to put the Rainiers on the board, 8-2.

Round Rock plated five runs on four hits in the bottom of the frame. LF Dustin Harris scored on a SS Richie Martin groundout to get the inning started. 2B Alan Trejo and Freeman recorded back-to-back home runs giving the Express a 13-2 lead after five.

Ford drove in a pair of runs for Tacoma with his single in the eighth but Round Rock could not be caught in Wednesday’s 13-4 final.

E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:

HOT HITTER: 1B Blaine Crim has the most appearances at first base in club history (276) after his start there tonight. He went 3-for-4 with a double, a homer, four RBI, three runs scored and a walk. He now has sole possession of fifth place in club history with 55 home runs and is now tied for sixth in club history with 81 doubles (OF Joey Butler). He is tied for fourth in RBI (INF Mark Saccamanno).

TOP OF THE ORDER: Round Rock’s first four batters of CF Michael Helman, 1B Blaine Crim, 2B Alan Trejo and 3B Cody Freeman all recorded a homer and combined to bat 13-for-19 with 12 RBI and four doubles in Wednesday’s win.

BLACH PARTY: LHP Ty Blach improved to 3-0 with all of his wins coming in his last three appearances. Blach allowed seven hits and two runs in 5.0 innings. He struck out three and walked one batter. The left-hander has now thrown 5.0 innings or more in seven of his nine starts this year.
