HOW IT HAPPENED:

Round Rock RHP Gerson Garabito retired the first seven batters he faced, including four strikeouts through two innings. Sugar Land 2B Brice Matthews got aboard with a two-out walk in the fourth. Matthews stole second then scored on a C Collin Price single through the right side. The single brought an end to Garabito’s night and the Space Cowboys led 1-0 after four.

RF Quincy Hamilton led off the eighth with a single then 1B Shay Whitcomb got on with a walk. Price cleared the bases with a double to left and tallied his second and third RBI of the day as the Space Cowboys extended their lead to 3-0 which stood final.

E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:

COLE STILL COOKING: Round Rock RHP Cole Winn extended his scoreless streak on Thursday night. The right-hander holds the longest streak in all of Triple-A, tossing 20.0 innings without surrendering an earned run. Winn held the Space Cowboys hitless in 2.1 innings out of the bullpen on Thursday. He has yet to allow more than two hits in any appearance in 2025.

K’s: Sugar Land RHP Miguel Ullola, RHP Nick Hernandez and RHP Miguel Castro struck out 13 Round Rock batters. It’s tied for the most strikeouts by the Express offense in a game this year. It’s the second time the Express have been shutout in 2025.
