LAS VEGAS, Nev. - BOX SCORE

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Las Vegas put two runners on with a pair of hits from LF Alejo Lopez and C Daniel Susac to start the bottom of the third. Lopez was able to score on a LHP Kohl Drake wild pitch then SS Darell Hernaiz drove Susac in with a single. The Aviators loaded the bases with two more singles and RF Colby Thomas drew a walk to add another run. Las Vegas led 3-0 after three.

Round Rock 1B Blaine Crim reached on an error to lead off the fourth and SS Alan Trejo belted his ninth home run of the year. The E-Train trailed 3-2.

Trejo kicked off the ninth with a double off the wall. C Konner Piotto delivered the equalizer with a single up the middle. Trejo came around to tie it at three, sending the game to extra innings.

In the top of the 10th, PR Richie Martin started the inning on second and advanced to third on 3B Josh Jung’s groundout. CF Dustin Harris gave the Express their first lead of the night with a single into center. Martin scored from third to make it 5-4.

Las Vegas responded with a run in the bottom half of the inning. 2B Zack Gelof was the automatic runner on second and moved up to third on a RHP Joe Barlow wild pitch. DH Carlos Cortes delivered a RBI single to right tying the game at five apiece.

After trading zeroes in the 11th, Trejo began the 12th on second and Round Rock loaded the bags with a pair of walks. DH Michael Helman gave the E-Train another lead with his single into shallow center. Trejo and Piotto came around and the Express led 6-4 heading into the bottom of the frame.

RHP Craig Kimbrel replaced Barlow to close it out in the 12th. The Aviators plated a run on Gelof’s sacrifice fly but that would be all. Kimbrel earned his second save of the series and Round Rock completed their first sweep of the year with a 6-5 win over Las Vegas.
