CHARLOTTE, N.C. - BOX SCORE

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Charlotte jumped out to a 3-0 lead behind three home runs in the bottom of the first. CF Brooks Baldwin led off with his first round-tripper of the year then C Kyle Teel and DH Korey Lee homered on back-to-back pitches.

The Knights broke it open with three more runs in the third. Teel started the inning with a single then RF Dominic Fletcher tripled with a line drive to right, scoring Teel. 3B Bryan Ramos sent the next pitch over the fence for a two-run homer and Charlotte led 6-0 after three.

An inning later, LF Corey Julks got aboard with a double before Teel notched his third hit and second home run of the evening. The Knights extended their lead to 8-0.

Teel’s homer would be Charlotte’s final base hit of the evening but the Round Rock offense failed to have a runner reach third base en route to their third shutout of the year. The Knights won their second consecutive game, 8-0, after holding the Express scoreless in 17 consecutive innings.
