HOW IT HAPPENED:

Round Rock put two on in the second with a C Cooper Johnson walk and SS Jonathan Ornelas single. DH Chad Wallach sent Johnson around with a single and the Express took a 1-0 lead.

In his next at-bat, Wallach recorded another single and 2B Alex De Goti belted his first home run of the year. De Goti’s homer extended the E-Train lead to 3-0. LF Kellen Strahm continued the frame with a walk before 1B Blaine Crim doubled into the corner in left and Strahm came home moving the Express advantage to 4-0 after five.

Round Rock scratched another run across in the sixth. Ornelas doubled and De Goti drew a walk. CF Alejandro Osuna tallied his second double of the night and drove in his first run at the Triple-A level for a 5-0 Express edge.

RHP Adrian Houser held the Comets hitless through 6.2 innings before 1B Michael Chavis singled in the seventh. Houser finished the night with 8.2 scoreless innings allowing four hits, one walk and four strikeouts. RHP Codi Heuer shut the door with a strikeout handing the Comets their first shutout of the year, 5-0.

E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:

ALEJANDRO HAS ARRIVED: CF Alejandro Osuna finished his second Triple-A game going 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Osuna, the No. 7 prospect in the Texas Rangers organization, was promoted to Round Rock on May 12 from Double-A Frisco.

A GEM FROM HOUSER: RHP Adrian Houser threw 8.2 innings of scoreless baseball on Wednesday night. It is the longest outing of any Triple-A pitcher this season and the longest from a Round Rock pitcher since LHP Michael Roth tossed a complete game on June 26, 2016. Oklahoma City did not record a hit until the seventh inning. Houser allowed just one walk while striking out four batters. He collected 16 ground ball outs.

BOTTOM’S UP: Round Rock’s 7-8-9 batters went 5-for-11 with three RBIs and three runs in Wednesday's victory.
