Carilion Clinic Field at Salem Memorial Ballpark is the picturesque home of the Salem Red Sox, the Single-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, competing in the Carolina League.
The ballpark was constructed in 1995 at a cost of approximately $10.1 million to replace the aging Municipal Stadium. The initial name was Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium, chosen to honor Salem's veterans. It has gone through a few name changes due to sponsorship, including Lewis-Gale Field and Haley Toyota Field, before becoming Carilion Clinic Field in 2021.
The stadium has hosted various baseball organizations since its opening, starting with the Salem Avalanche (a Colorado Rockies affiliate) and most recently the Salem Red Sox (affiliated with the Boston Red Sox since 2009). Beyond Minor League Baseball, the venue has hosted the ACC Baseball Tournament (2003-2004) and the NCAA Division III National Baseball Championships (1996-1999).
