Luciano, Teng Sweep PCL Weekly Honors

Luciano Crushes Four Homers and Bats .389; Teng Punches Out 11 in Only Outing

Fresh off a dominant six-game sweep of the Reno Aces, the River Cats kept the momentum rolling as Marco Luciano and Kai-Wei Teng were named Pacific Coast League Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively. Luciano launched four home runs and drove in 12 runs over five games, including a grand slam and a seven-RBI performance in Sunday’s finale. Teng shined in his lone outing, striking out 11 over five innings of one-hit ball — the most strikeouts by a River Cat in a game this season.

Max, known as “Hoss,” has followed in 2025 after a 10-year MLB run, homering as a River Cat on his first pitch back from injury.

Carson Whisenhunt was named PCL Pitcher of the Week for April 15–20 after striking out nine over six shutout innings against the Salt Lake Bees, allowing just one hit and facing only two over the minimum.
