Tristin English: From Fan-Favorite to Player of the Year

At the end of every single home game, fans could count on one thing: Tristin English sticking around to sign autographs and take photos with everyone who asked. This year, the 2024 Fan Favorite added Aces' Player of the Year to his trophy collection following his best season of professional baseball.

English appeared in 93 games during the season playing first base, third base, right field, and even had a couple appearances on the mound. The 28-year-old led the Aces in batting average (.325), hits (125) and doubles (31), and ranked second in total bases (198) and runs batted in (77).

After a brief stint on the injured list in May, the 2019 MLB Draft pick returned to the BLC-Nine on May 22 and promptly when on arguably the best stretch of his professional career, slashing .373/.400/.660 for a 1.060 OPS over 160 plate appearances. In the month of June, his 34 runs batted in tied for the second-most RBI for a month in team history.

English would be named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week on June 23 and ultimately received a big-league call-up making his MLB debut on July 9 for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Georgia Tech product is one of the all-time greats in Aces' history, both in the record books and as a fan favorite. He currently ranks in the team's all-time top ten for hits, doubles, home runs, total bases, RBI, runs scored, games played, and at-bats while also leaving fans with memories off the field that downtown Reno will never forget.

The Reno Aces’ 2026 home opener is set for Friday, March 27th, as they host the Tacoma Rainiers, Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. Season tickets are currently on sale – for more information, fans can visit RenoAces.com or call (775) 334-7000.
