(Reading, PA) - The Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, are excited to welcome Mike Robinson back to the R-Phils front office as the Director of the Redner's Event Center
In his role, Robinson will work with the Redner's Event Center sales team to sell and implement a variety of events at the Redner's Event Center. Fans who are interested in booking events at America's Classic Ballpark can go to rphils.com/events.
"I'm very happy to be big with the Reading Fightin Phils," Robinson said. "I started here in 1993 as a part-time employee and I was hired in 2002. It was bittersweet to come back and I'm ready to be back"
Robinson previously worked with the Fightin Phils from 2002 to 2022 in a variety of roles. From 2002 to '07, Robinson was Group Sales Manager and he was promoted to Director of Group Sales, a role he held until 2012. In 2008, Robinson also took over as the Fightin Phils Internship Coordinator, a position he held until leaving the R-Phils following the 2022 season. In 2012, Robinson was promoted to Executive Director of Community Relations and Fan Development, a role he held until the end of the 2022 season.
Following his time with the Fightin Phils, Robinson worked full-time as a Customer Experience Advocate for Draft Kings. He also worked part-time as a Guest Experience Representative at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders. Robinson also previously was the Assistant Coach for Reading High School Football from 1990-2006 and worked as an Assistant Coach for Conrad Weiser High School football from 2007-2023.
Before being hired full-time by the Fightin Phils in 2002, Robinson worked as an intern with Reading. The R-Phils strong internship program has resulted in many of our current full-time staff. 26 of the 30 front office staff members started their career as an R-Phils intern. The Fightin Phils return home from Tuesday, September 9, through Sunday, September 14, for the final series of the regular season against the Somerset Patriots, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. Tuesday is the 22nd Annual Morning Game, with the first 2,000 adults getting a Reading Flapjacks Hat, thanks to Reading Hospital. On Wednesday, the first 1,000 fans receive a Pride Night R-Phils Rainbow Cup, presented by Kutztown University and LGBTQ+ Resource Center at Kutztown University. Thursday is an Unused Ticket Game, thanks to Baseballtown Charities. Friday night features fireworks, thanks to Savage Auto Group. Saturday night is a MEGA Blast fireworks show, sponsored by Penske and the Fightin Phils will play as the "Reading Prost" in an Oktoberfest Celebration. The season and series ends Sunday with a R-Phils Uncut Player Baseball Card Poster for the first 2,000 kids, thanks to Baseballtown Charities.
