JUPITER, FL – Jupiter Hammerheads starting pitcher Aiden May has been named the Florida State League Pitcher of the Week for the final week of the regular season, September 2-7, by Minor League Baseball. May became the third Hammerhead pitcher to earn the honor, joining teammates Dameivi Tineo and Julio Mendez.
May made his final start of the season on Tuesday, September 2nd against the Lakeland Flying Tigers. The 22-year-old right-hander finished with 5 1/3 hitless and scoreless innings and only walked two batters while he struck out a season-high seven batters in a no-decision. It was the first and only time this season that May was able to complete four or more innings.
In 2025 with Class-A Jupiter, May finished his season with a 1-1 record and a 3.05 ERA over six appearances and five starts. The Albuquerque native recorded 20 strikeouts over 20 2/3 innings pitched and held opponents to a .164 batting average.
May made his professional debut with the FCL-Marlins in July and posted a 1.35 ERA over four starts at the rookie ball level. May was selected by the Miami Marlins with the 70th overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft out of Oregon State University. Before transferring to Oregon State for his junior season, May played two collegiate seasons at Arizona.
