Tournament Lineup Set for Field of Frames Fest

Featuring largest open Super Smash Bros. tournament in the Midwest with $5,000 prize pool

MIDLAND, Mich. – Six tournaments, all featuring unique prize pools, will be open to fans of all ages to compete in at Field of Frames Fest presented by Dow on September 26-28, 2025, at Dow Diamond.

With video games such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart World, and Fortnite, as well as trading card games (TCG) like Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, and Lorcana, there are opportunities for individuals to compete all weekend long.

“Having a mix of collegiate tournaments with ranked teams and competitors to go along with six different opportunities for people in the region to compete, we’re really excited about what we have to offer the gaming community both in the video game space and trading cards,” F3 Executive Director Eric Ramseyer said. “Partnering with Block House and The Stadium has really brought experts in each gaming space to the table. Fans can expect high-level action and a state-of-the-art experience when viewing and competing.”

Below is a full list of open tournaments available. Interested parties are encouraged to reach each description closely as some encourage pre-registration. To compete in any tournament, a single-day ticket to Field of Frames Fest is required. Initial event registration is free, followed by a $25 ticket for the day of competition (Saturday, September 27 or Sunday, September 27). Smash Ultimate Open presented by Northwood University: $5,000 Prize Pool

Check-in starts at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 27. All players will be divided into pools. Round robin matchups (best-of-1) will determine the top players advancing to the championship tournament. The championship tournament is a 16-player double elimination bracket. Matches will be best-of-3 until the semi-finals, where the remaining matches will be best-of-5.

Mario Kart World Open: Nintendo Switch 2 Bundle Grand Prize

Check-in starts at 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 27. Anyone attending Field of Frames on Saturday, September 27 is eligible to participate. Brackets (capped at 64 players) will be randomly generated. 4 player split screen matches will be played on 150cc Grand Prix. Maps are voted on by participating players.

Youth Fortnite Battle Royale Tournament presented by Saginaw Valley State University: Scholarship Prize Pool

Register at the event (no pre-registration). Participants will compete in two Fortnite Battle Royale matches, earning points based on eliminations and final placement. At the conclusion of the weekend, the three highest overall scores will be awarded prizes. Eligibility is limited to students in primary school, including high school or younger.

Magic: The Gathering Modern: $1,000 Prize Pool

Check-in starts at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 27. Player pool is capped at 64 players. Format will be Modern Constructed. Included in your entry will be a $10 gift certificate for The Stadium, valid at both our Frankenmuth and Bay City locations, plus a soda or water.

Pokémon TCG Standard Showdown: Booster Packs of Mega Evolution Prize Pool

Check-in starts at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 27. Player pool is capped at 48 players. Pre-registration is highly recommended and can be completed here. Format will be Standard Constructed GHI. Included in your entry will be a $10 gift certificate for The Stadium, valid at both our Frankenmuth and Bay City locations, plus one booster pack of Mega Evolution, and a soda or water.

Disney Lorcana Core Constructed Tournament: Booster Packs of Lorcana Fabled Prize Pool

Check-in starts at 10 a.m. on Sunday, September 28. Player pool is capped at 48 players. Pre-registration is highly recommended and can be completed here. Format will be Standard Constructed GHI. Included in your entry will be a $10 gift certificate for The Stadium, valid at both our Frankenmuth and Bay City locations, plus one booster pack of Lorcana Fabled, and a soda or water.

Field of Frames Fest begins on Friday, September 26 at 6 p.m. with the FREE sneak peek event. Free to play areas will be available for attendees, select food carts and concession stands will be open, official F3 merchandise on sale and the Collegiate Valorant Tournament Kickoff. Gates will open at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 27 with a full schedule of tournaments, workshops, panel discussions and entertainment. Field of Frames Fest wraps up on Sunday, September 28 as gates open at 10 a.m. with awards and the closing ceremony set to conclude at 8 p.m.

Friday’s Sneak Peek event is free and does not require a ticket. Single-day tickets are $25; weekend passes for Saturday & Sunday are $40; and VIP tickets with an all-inclusive experience that includes access to exclusive locations and perks throughout the three-day event are $125.

Children ages 10 and under are free for the duration of Field of Frames Fest. With numerous hands-on activities, free to play areas and open tournaments, F3 is the perfect event for young kids to experience gaming and STEM education throughout the stadium in a whole new way.
