SALISBURY, MD - Over the course of the 2025 baseball season, the Delmarva Shorebirds’ Wag Your Tail Tuesday promotion once again brought fans and their four-legged friends together for a great cause. Thanks to the generous donations from Sharp Water, the Shorebirds, and the local community, the promotion raised over $5,000 worth of pet supplies and monetary donations for the Humane Society of Wicomico County.

Starting on May 27, fans were invited to bring their dogs to Wag Your Tail Tuesday games, with each dog receiving free entry in exchange for a donation of toys, food, treats, cleaning supplies, or a monetary donation.

In addition to physical donations, the Shorebirds and Sharp Water were able to give $2,500 thanks to the Christmas in July Jersey Auction. The Shorebirds took the field on July 25th in specially designed Christmas-themed jerseys that were auctioned off to fans afterward, with all proceeds donated to the Humane Society of Wicomico County. The festive evening also featured a holiday-themed Jackson Holliday bobblehead giveaway, Christmas music throughout the ballpark, and a variety of seasonal activities to spread cheer during the summer.

“Our Wag Your Tail Tuesday promotion continues to be a meaningful way to give back to our local community and a fan favorite,” said Becky Trader, Shorebirds Community Relations Manager. “Partnering with local businesses like Sharp Water allows us to make an even bigger impact for organizations like the Humane Society of Wicomico County and our four-legged friends in need.”

Together, the Delmarva Shorebirds, fans, and Sharp Water have helped raise a total of $5,000 in financial donations and supplies to help support the care, fostering, and adoption of local animals in need.
