The E-Train received a leadoff homer from CF Dustin Harris to quickly take a 1-0 advantage. The Rainiers came back in the home half of the frame. CF Leody Taveras came to the plate with two outs and singled home 2B Samad Taylor to even the score at one apiece.

Tacoma took the lead in the second inning. After a one-out walk for RF Victor Labrada, 3B Jack López ripped a two-run home run and the home team held a 3-1 advantage.

In the sixth inning, SS Richie Martin belted a triple to start things off for the Express before a single for C Konner Piotto cut the Rainiers lead at 3-2. Round Rock loaded the bases and 1B Justin Foscue hit into a double play but scored Piotto to tie the game.

The E-Train pulled ahead in the eighth inning. Foscue ripped a two-out solo homer and Round Rock had their first lead since the first inning at 4-3. Tacoma came right back in the home half. After a leadoff homer from 1B Tyler Locklear tied the game at four, the Rainiers loaded the bases for López with two outs. His single scored two to extend the lead at 6-4. Singles from DH Rhylan Thomas and C Harry Ford each tallied a run and the lead was 8-4 as Tacoma RHP Jesse Hahn threw a scoreless ninth for the victory.

E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:

THIS ISN’T FUN: The Express dropped their fifth consecutive game to the Rainiers and they have lost their last 10 games at Cheney Stadium along with 11 of their last 12 dating back to the end of 2024. They have gone 2-12 in 14 series in Tacoma since 2006 with a record of 18-44. With a loss tomorrow, Round Rock will be swept in a six-game series for the first time since July 25-30 at El Paso and just the third time in club history.

MORE HARRIS: OF Dustin Harris extended his hitting streak to seven games. He has a hit in 14 of 17 games this month. He finished 1-for-3 with a homer, an RBI, a run scored, a walk and a strikeout. In July, Harris is slashing .329 (23-70)/.422/.529/.951 with two doubles, four homers, eight RBI, 13 runs scored, 10 walks and 11 strikeouts.
