HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1:
The Space Cowboys opened the scoring with a run on two hits in the bottom of the first. SS Jesús Bastidas led off with a double and 3B Shay Whitcomb singled into left. 2B Brice Matthews grounded into a double play but Bastidas scored from third, giving Sugar Land a 1-0 lead.
Matthews singled and 1B Collin Price walked to open the fourth for Sugar Land. With two on, LF Tommy Sacco Jr. cleared the bases with a double to left. Later, Sacco Jr. scored from third on a groundout from RF Kenedy Corona and the Space Cowboys led 4-0 after four.
SS Ezequiel Duran doubled to kick off the fifth and 3B Cody Freeman notched his third hit of the day with a double into the corner in right. Duran came home and the Express trailed 4-1.
Sugar Land added some insurance in the bottom of the sixth with back-to-back homers from DH Luis Guillorme and Sacco Jr. extending it to 6-1.The Express recorded at least one hit in all seven innings but left nine runners on base. Sugar Land took the first game, 6-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2:
Round Rock SS Ezequiel Duran led off the game with a double. With two down, CF Sam Haggerty hit a ground ball down the left side but 3B Jesus Bastidas committed a throwing error and Duran came around to give the E-Train a 1-0 lead.
The Express scratched another run across in the top of the fourth. Haggerty singled then stole second to kick off the inning. RF Kellen Strahm laid down a bunt for a single and Haggerty scored on another Bastidas throwing error.
Express RHP Trey Supak held the Space Cowboys to one hit through four innings in his Triple-A debut. In the fifth, 2B Justin Foscue launched his fourth homer of the season. The solo shot from Foscue extended the Round Rock lead to 3-0.
The Space Cowboys put two on the board in the bottom half of the fifth. 1B Collin Price doubled and 2B Luis Guillorme cleared the bags with a homer, cutting the Sugar Land deficit to 3-2.
Round Rock added to the lead with five runs in the seventh. OF Evan Carter came in to pinch-hit and drove a 3-1 fastball into the Bullpen Patio for his third home run of the season. Duran and Foscue proceeded to draw a pair of walks and SS Cody Freeman sent Duran home with a single up the middle. 1B Chad Wallach also tallied a RBI single with the bases loaded. Piotto came up for the second time in the seventh and was hit by a pitch with the bases juiced as Freeman scored from third and Round Rock led 8-2.
Express relievers RHP Codi Heuer and LHP Robby Ahlstrom shut the door allowing just one Space Cowboy to reach base in the final two innings. Round Rock split the day with a definitive 8-2 win in game two.
E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:
E-TRAIN TREY: RHP Trey Supak made his first appearance for the Express as the starting pitcher in game two on Saturday night. Supak threw 5.0 innings, allowing three hits and two runs with one walk and four strikeouts while earning the win.
CODY’S DAY: SS Cody Freeman went 4-for-7 in Round Rock’s doubleheader on Saturday. The infielder recorded the E-Train’s only RBI in game one and tallied another in game two.
NO FREE BASES: Round Rock’s pitching staff issued just three walks in Saturday’s doubleheader.
