HOW IT HAPPENED:

Round Rock 2B Justin Foscue opened up the scoring by launching his third home run of the season down the left field line and the Express led 2-0 in the top of the first.

Aces 1B Trey Mancini cut the deficit in half with a RBI single in the bottom of the first and Reno trailed 2-1.

Express SS Alan Trejo doubled in his first at-bat and RF Kellen Strahm sent him home with his seventh base hit of the series. Strahm then stole second and scored on a LF Alex De Goti single. Round Rock led 4-1 in the top of the second.

Reno responded later in the inning. RF A.J. Vukovich singled and LF Cristian Pache got aboard after being hit by a pitch. 2B Jordan Lawlar cleared the bases with a two-run triple then 3B Ildemaro Vargas tied the ballgame at 4-4 on an RBI double.

The E-Train took a 5-4 lead as De Goti recorded his second RBI of the night on an infield single that scored DH Trevor Hauver from third.

Round Rock CF Sam Haggerty and 3B Cody Freeman put together back-to-back singles in the top of the seventh before Foscue continued his tear with a double adding his third and fourth RBI’s. Foscue broke things open as the Express led 7-4.

The Express plated one more run in the top of the ninth. Freeman hit a sacrifice fly and the Express secured the victory by a final score of 8-4.

E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:

SWIPING BAGS: The Express stole four bases in Saturday’s win which boosted their stolen base percentage to .929 which is the best rate in all of Triple-A. They’ve swiped the third-most bases in the Pacific Coast League (26).

JUSTIN TIME: 2B Justin Foscue posted game-highs in base hits (3) and RBI (4) with the lone home run of the evening. Foscue leads the Pacific Coast League in hits (27) and ranks eighth in the league with a .351 batting average. Foscue owns a nine-game hitting streak. He has reached base at least twice in eight of those games.

EXTRA-BASES FOR ALAN: SS Alan Trejo went 1-for-4 with a double on Saturday. Eight of his 13 hits this year are doubles and he stands in a tie for the second-most in the PCL.

LIGHTS OUT: The Round Rock bullpen held Reno scoreless through 7.1 innings. RHP Matt Festa, RHP Cole Winn and RHP Daniel Robert struck out 11 without surrendering a walk. Neither Festa nor Winn have given up an earned run in a combined 24.1 IP this season. Robert earned his second save as he shut the door for the E-Train, allowing one hit in 2.0 IP.
