HOW IT HAPPENED:
The E-Train kicked off the second with three consecutive singles. 2B Sam Haggerty smoked a double to right field and LF Trevor Hauver and C Tucker Barnhart came around to score. Round Rock got an early 2-0 lead.
Reno posted an eight-run third inning on eight base hits. LF Jorge Barrosa, SS Ildemaro Vargas, 3B Tristin English, CF Blaze Alexander and RF A.J. Vukovich all recorded RBI singles and C Rene Pinto belted a two-run double to move the Aces lead to 8-2.
Round Rock 3B Cody Freeman led off the sixth with a double down the left field line, then Haggerty brought him home with a single for his third RBI of the night. The Express still trailed 8-3.
The Aces added another run in the bottom half of the frame. Barrosa got aboard with a single, stole a bag and 2B Jordan Lawlar sent him home with his first base hit of the evening as Reno led, 9-3.
Reno plated two more runs in the eighth inning with RBI doubles from Barrosa and Lawlar, bringing the final score to 11-3.
E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:
SWIPING BAGS: 2B Sam Haggerty and SS Jonathan Ornelas each stole a base on Friday night. With their two stolen bags, the Express have a .917 stolen base percentage which is the best rate in all of Triple-A. They’ve swiped the third-most bases in the Pacific Coast League with 22.
JUSTIN TIME: After going 2-for-5 on Friday, DH Justin Foscue owns an eight-game hitting streak. He has reached base at least twice in seven of those games.
BRING EM IN: Haggerty went 2-for-3 on Friday night while producing all of the E-Train’s runs with a season-high 3 RBI.
