The Express got the scoring started in the second inning thanks to DH Alan Trejo. His solo home run to left field gave the E-Train a 1-0 edge. Round Rock came back in the third and scored a run on an RBI single from 1B Justin Foscue to make it 2-0.
The Isotopes answered with a run in the home half when RF Zac Veen scored from second base on a sacrifice fly. With the score at 2-1 and the E-Train leading going to the seventh, the Isotopes plated two with a two-out triple from CF Sam Hilliard and Albuquerque held a 3-2 lead.
Round Rock came back with three runs in the top of the ninth. After a leadoff triple for SS Richie Martin, LF Kellen Strahm singled to tie the game. C Cooper Johnson came up next and delivered a two-run homer to give the Express a 5-3 lead. The Isotopes tied it up right away in the bottom of the ninth. After a single for Veen, 3B Owen Miller hit a two-run home run to left field and tied the game at five.
In the 10th, the Express scored a run on a single from Trejo and a fielder’s choice for Martin. With the score at 7-5, the Isotopes struck for two in the home-half on a two-RBI triple from 2B Nolan Clifford. We’d go to an 11th inning and Johnson delivered a sacrifice fly to bring the score to 8-7.
Albuquerque won it in the bottom of the 11th after PH Sterlin Thompson singled to tie the game, 1B Michael Toglia singled to score Hilliard and the Isotopes won it, 9-8.
