HOW IT HAPPENED:

Round Rock CF Dustin Harris led off with a single on the first pitch of the game and stole second on the next. The Express then drew three consecutive walks for a run. In his first career Triple-A plate appearance, RF Abimelec Ortiz drove in a pair of runs with a single to right and the E-Train led 3-0 after the first.

The Isotopes got on the board in the second as 3B Kyle Karros hit a triple to right and scored on LF Sterlin Thompson’s single.

In the top of the fifth, Foscue drove a run in with a double then Ortiz belted his first Triple-A homer with a three-run shot to right field. Round Rock led 7-1. Albuquerque plated three runs in the bottom of the frame as 2B Adael Amador hit a two-run triple and CF Sam Hilliard sent Amador in with a base hit to make it 7-4.

Round Rock 1B Jake Burger hit a double to left that scored CF Dustin Harris from first, extending the E-Train lead in the sixth.The Isotopes put two on with a pair of singles in the bottom of the sixth and SS Owen Miller recorded a sacrifice fly, cutting Albuquerque’s deficit to three.

Ortiz capped off the scoring with his fourth hit and second home run in the top of the ninth. Ortiz’s three-run homer made it a 11-5 Express lead. Round Rock RHP Craig Kimbrel issued a walk but ultimately retired the side in the bottom of the ninth.

E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:

ABI GOES BIG: Round Rock RF Abimelec Ortiz exploded for four hits, two home runs and eight RBI in his Triple-A debut. Ortiz tied the Express club record for RBI in a single game, joining OF Willie Calhoun (9/3/2017), OF Jason Lane (6/5/2001) and 3B Morgan Ensberg (6/3/2000) with eight RBI.

COLLYER GETS THE CALL: Round Rock RHP Gavin Collyer also made his Triple-A debut on Tuesday night, throwing 1.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Collyer allowed a single and struck out two batters in the seventh inning.
