NORFOLK, VA – The Charlotte Knights captured their second straight win over the Norfolk Tides with a 3-2 victory on Thursday afternoon. Charlotte received a tremendous starting pitching performance from Duncan Davitt and solo Home Runs off the bats of Will Robertson and Dominic Fletcher.

Robertson’s Home Run came on the very first pitch of the game. Norfolk knotted the contest 1-1 with a run in the bottom of the second; however, it was the only damage allowed by Davitt in six innings pitched. The Knights right-hander held the Tides to two hits while striking out nine Norfolk batters.

In the top of the fifth, Blake Sabol singled and eventually made his way to third base with no outs. Jacob Gonzalez cashed in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly to deep left that scored Sabol. Fletcher then provided a critical insurance run with a deep fly in the eighth that barely snuck inside the right field foul pole.

The Knights bullpen trio of Cam Booser, Peyton Pallette, and Chase Plymell made sure the two run advantage held up. Plymell worked the bottom of the ninth and secured his first save of the season. In the final frame, Robertson made a spectacular highlight-reel catch in right field.

Robertson, Jacob Amaya, and Dru Baker all finished with two hits for the Knights and outhit the Tides by themselves. Game Four of the series is set for Friday night with the first pitch slated for 6:35pm ET.
