Reno kicked off the second with a C Aramis Garcia single and 3B Tristin English double. SS Nicky Lopez grounded out but drove in Garcia on the play. 2B Andy Weber hit a sacrifice fly to center field and English came home for a 2-0 Aces lead.

The Aces drew three consecutive walks to open the third inning. 1B Trey Mancini reached on a 3B Cody Freeman throwing error and Barrosa scored to make it 3-0.

In the fifth, the Aces added a pair of runs on three hits and a sacrifice fly. Garcia hit a sacrifice fly to left then English drove DH Michael Pérez in with a single. Reno led 5-0 after five.

Reno RHP Bryce Jarvis held Round Rock without a hit in his 6.0 scoreless frames. He walked one and struck out nine while striking out the side twice. Express 3B Cody Freeman broke up the no-hitter with a single off RHP Cesar Gomez to lead off the bottom of the seventh.

Garcia doubled to open the eighth and scored on an English double, extending the Aces lead to 6-0.

Round Rock SS Michael Helman drew a leadoff walk and 2B Alan Trejo singled to start the eighth. CF Dustin Harris grounded out but Helman came home to put the Express on the board. Freeman recorded his second base hit and sent Trejo home for another run. A pitch later, 1B Blaine Crim notched his hardest hit ball of the year with a 111.8 MPH double into left and Freeman scored to make it 6-3.

The Express came within one in the bottom of the ninth as SS Michael Helman belted his first home run at Dell Diamond. The two-run shot made it 6-5. RHP Christian Montes De Oca struck out the next batter and RHP John Curtiss came in to retire the final batter, earning the save in Reno’s 6-5 win.

E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:

CODY CONTINUES: 3B Cody Freeman went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run on Friday night. Freeman leads all batters with nine hits and a .500 (9-18) average this series. He has at least two hits in six of his last seven games and he has been on base in all seven.

NOTE: 1B Blaine Crim recorded Round Rock’s hardest hit of the year with his 111.8 mph RBI double in the eighth inning. Crim is responsible for five of the E-Train’s ten hardest hit balls this season.
