Toledo, OH-The Toledo Mud Hens came up short in game two of their series against the Louisville Bats on Wednesday, September 10, at Fifth Third Field, falling 2-0. First pitch was delivered at 6:35 p.m.

Louisville broke through in the fourth inning when Rece Hinds singled, swiped second, and came around to score on a Ryan Vilade RBI for a 1-0 lead. The Bats added insurance in the eighth after Blake Dunn drew a walk and Hinds delivered again with a run-scoring single.
The Mud Hens had their chances at the plate. Riley Unroe ripped a double in the fifth, while Hao-Yu Lee reached with a single in the seventh before being cut down trying to stretch it into a double. In the ninth, Gage Workman sparked a rally attempt with a leadoff single, but Toledo couldn’t push a run across as Louisville held on for the shutout win.
On the mound, Randy Dobnak got the start and worked four innings, allowing just one run while striking out three. He was backed by steady relief appearances from José Urquidy, Paul Sewald, Dylan Smith, and Tyler Mattison.
The Toledo Mud Hens will look to bounce back against the Louisville Bats on Thursday, September 11, at Fifth Third Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
