Kyle Teel Again Named International League Player of the Week
CHARLOTTE, NC- Minor League Baseball announced that Kyle Teel of the Charlotte Knights has won the International League Player of the Week Award for the week of May 19 – May 25. It is the second time this season that Teel has been named the IL Player of the Week.

It is the second time this season that Teel has been named the IL Player of the Week. Teel previously won the award during the week of March 24 – March 30, the season’s Opening Week.
The Mahwah, New Jersey native batted 8-for-16 (.500/.636/1.188) with three Home Runs, two doubles, six RBI, seven runs scored, and six walks in five games played against the Round Rock Express last week.
Kyle has reached base in 32 consecutive games, the longest streak in Triple-A this year. Teel’s 19-game hitting streak earlier this season matched the longest streak in Charlotte Knights history as a Triple-A affiliate.
Teel, the first two-time IL Player of the Week Award winner this year, was acquired by the Chicago White Sox on December 11, 2024, in a trade with the Boston Red Sox. Kyle was drafted in the 1st round of the 2023 draft out of the University of Virginia.
The Knights are set to begin a six-game road series this evening against the Buffalo Bisons. Charlotte then returns to Truist Field on June 3 to take on the International League’s first place team, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.
