(Reading, PA) - The Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, are excited to announce the additions of Cody Eckenroth and Adam Ferdock to their full-time staff. Both will serve as Coordinator, Food & Beverage/Operations.

In this role they will work to keep the ballpark running smoothly on game days and during extra events, as well as assisting in the maintaining of the Redner's Event Center. With a ballpark that was built in 1950, they work to make sure that the repairs and adjustments they make still preserve the stadium’s history and character intact. Operations involves not only maintaining the façade, but also making sure things are running efficiently. On game days, they work to make sure everything is stocked and the stadium is kept clean.

Eckenroth joins the Fightin Phils front office after spending the 2025 season as a Community Relations/Group Sales Intern, before transitioning to a Food & Beverage/Operations Intern later in the season. Prior to being hired as an intern for this past season, Eckenroth assisted in the Fightin Phils clubhouse as an attendant from 2019 through the conclusion of the 2024 season. His time in Baseballtown began in 2018 as a bat boy before transitioning to clubhouse attendant. Eckenroth attended York College of Pennsylvania and graduated in 2024 with a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management. He was the Vice President of the Sports Business Association at York College and also worked Rip It Baseballtown Charities over the last few years. Eckenroth graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School in 2020.

"I've been coming here since I was a little kid with my family and it's a cool experience to be hired here full-time," Eckenroth said. "I worked here for a long time, starting as a gameday employee as a batboy and eventually being hired full-time is a full-circle moment. I'm looking forward to growing here and getting more involved."

Ferdock spent this past season as a Group Sales Intern for the Fightin Phils, before transitioning into the Food & Beverage/Operations Department later in the year. He began his Fightin Phils Internship last October in the Alarm Tech R-Phils Team Store before transitioning to the Group Sales Department and then eventually working as an intern with the Food & Beverage/Operations team. Like Eckenroth, Ferdock previously worked as a Clubhouse Attendant for the Fightin Phils, a role he held from 2018 through the end of the 2024 season, while also working in Phunland during the 2018 season. Ferdock attended Albright College and graduated in 2024 a degree in Marketing, while also being a pitcher for the Albright College baseball team. Ferdock graduated from Pope John Paul High School II High School in Royersford in 2020.

"I've been looking forward to this opportunity and it's amazing to get to this point," Ferdock said. "To be a part of the front office is what I have always dreamt of."

Before being hired full-time by the Fightin Phils in 2025, Eckenroth and Ferdock worked as interns with Reading. The R-Phils strong internship program has resulted in many of our current full-time staff. 28 of the 32 front office staff members started their career as an R-Phils intern. The best way to get your start in Baseballtown is to join us for an internship or game staff position. Reading is hiring interns for the 2026 season NOW and more information can be found HERE.

The Fightin Phils return to FirstEnergy Stadium on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, to open up the home schedule against the Hartford Yard Goats, Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.
