Field of Frames ‘Game Jam’ Goes Live This Weekend

Week-long event encourages participants to make an original game and submit for prizes

MIDLAND, Mich.Field of Frames Fest presented by Dow is hosting a digital Game Jam powered by Hemlock Semiconductor that begins Sunday, September 14th at 9 a.m. and runs through Sunday, September 21st at 11:59 p.m.

F3’s Game Jam is a week-long event that encourages participants of all ages to make an original game inspired by this year’s theme. Whether fans are experimenting solo or jamming with friends, the goal is to make something bold, surprising, or just plain fun based on the jam theme.

The game jam itself will be hosted online, but entries will be made playable to all attendees of the Field of Frames Fest on September 26-28, 2025, at Dow Diamond in Midland, MI. Participants (especially MI participants) are encouraged (but not required) to attend the festival in-person to talk to attendees and meet other game developers.

Everyone who submits a game is eligible for the following prizes:

  • Grand Prize: $250
  • 2nd Place: $100
  • 3rd Place: $50
  • Digital Certificates

Voting will be done by an external panel of judges. They will be judging games on the following criteria:

  • Best overall game: Grand prize winner
  • 2nd & 3rd place best overall: Runner up prizes
  • Best Gameplay: Wins digital certificate
  • Best Art: Wins digital certificate
  • Best Audio: Wins digital certificate
  • Best Use of Theme: Wins digital certificate
  • Most Innovative: Wins digital certificate

Field of Frames Fest begins on Friday, September 26 at 6 p.m. with the FREE sneak peak event. Free to play areas will be available for attendees, select food carts and concession stands will be open, official F3 merchandise on sale and the Collegiate Valorant Tournament Kickoff. Gates will open at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 27 with a full schedule of tournaments, workshops, panel discussions and entertainment. Field of Frames Fest wraps up on Sunday, September 28 as gates open at 10 a.m. with awards and the closing ceremony set to conclude at 8 p.m.

Friday’s Sneak Peek event is free and does not require a ticket. Single-day tickets are $25; weekend passes for Saturday & Sunday are $40; and VIP tickets with an all-inclusive experience that includes access to exclusive locations and perks throughout the three-day event are $125.

Children ages 10 and under are free for the duration of Field of Frames Fest. With numerous hands-on activities, free to play areas and open tournaments, F3 is the perfect event for young kids to experience gaming and STEM education throughout the stadium in a whole new way.
