El Paso Shuts Out Round Rock, 8-0

ROUND ROCK, Texas - BOX SCORE

HOW IT HAPPENED:

El Paso CF Forrest Wall hit a two-run double in the top of the second to put the Chihuahuas on the board. SS Mason McCoy later hit a single up the middle to drive Wall in for a 3-0 lead.

The Chihuahuas opened the third with two hit batsmen then LF Yonathan Perlaza hit a three-run homer that doubled the El Paso lead to 6-0.

The clubs traded five scoreless frames until McCoy recorded a sacrifice fly that scored C Rodolfo Durán in the top of the ninth. The next batter, RF Bryce Johnson tallied an RBI double sending it to a final of 8-0.

E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:

DUGGER DIGS IN: RHP Robert Dugger threw 4.0 scoreless innings out of the bullpen on Saturday. Dugger allowed two hits and struck out three batters without issuing a walk.

CRIM’S COOKING: 1B Blaine Crim went 1-for-3 on Saturday night, extending his hitting streak to seven consecutive games. He now has a hit in 12 of 14 games this month. Crim leads the Express slugging .528 with 115 total bases.

HARRIS KEEPS HITTING: CF Dustin Harris tallied the E-Train’s lone multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a double. Harris has five multi-hit games in June and is hitting .311 (14-45) with three doubles, a triple, two home runs, eight RBI, eight runs scored, five walks and nine strikeouts. Harris had one extra-base hit in March, April and May. He has six in the first 10 games of June.
