The E-Train plated two runs on four hits in the bottom of the first. 2B Justin Foscue led off with a base hit and later scored on DH Cody Freeman’s single up the middle. LF Trevor Hauver drove Freeman in with a single and the Express led 2-0 after one.

El Paso got a run back in the top of the second. C Rodolfo Durán sent 3B Mike Brosseau around with a single up the middle cutting the Chihuahuas deficit to 2-1.

In the top of the third, El Paso LF Trenton Brooks tied it up at two apiece with an RBI single.

Round Rock reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the frame on C Cooper Johnson’s base hit that sent 1B Blaine Crim around for a 3-2 lead.

Express DH Justin Foscue belted a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth, extending the Round Rock advantage to 5-2.

Hauver led off the fifth with his second hit of the night and Johnson got aboard with a walk. 3B Alan Trejo cleared the bags with a three-run round-tripper to make it 8-2.

Rain in the area caused a 24-minute delay after the bottom of the eighth. El Paso recorded three singles in the top of the ninth but RHP Patrick Murphy shut the door for Round Rock. The Express took game four 8-2, winning their third consecutive game.

E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:

BLACH PARTY: LHP Ty Blach earned his first win of the year tossing 6.0 innings with two runs (one earned) on six hits while striking out six batters. Blach faced 25 batters and recorded 18 first-pitch strikes.

IN THE YARD: The Round Rock pitching staff recorded their 28th game this season without surrendering a home run and seventh game issuing less than two walks. The Express are 17-9 when holding teams without a homer. They’ve allowed a league-low seven home runs in 15 games since May 27, all of which came from the Salt Lake Bees.

BULLPEN POUNDS THE ZONE: Round Rock’s relievers RHP Luis Curvelo and RHP Patrick Murphy did not issue a walk in Friday’s win. The Express are now 7-2 when relievers hold opponents without a walk.

CAN’T STOP CODY: With his RBI single in the first inning, DH Cody Freeman extended his hitting streak to 14 consecutive games, the second longest active streak in Triple-A. Freeman now owns Round Rock’s longest streak of the year surpassing INF Blaine Crim’s 13-game streak from March 28 to April 12.

JUNE: The Express offense continues to pace the PCL with 20 home runs, 88 runs and a .907 OPS since June 1. Round Rock has recorded multiple home runs in seven games this month. They owned just 10 multi-homer games on May 31.
