The Harrisburg Senators used timely hitting and a big third inning to defeat the Akron RubberDucks 5-3 Thursday night at FNB Field, snapping a two-game skid.

After falling behind 2-0 early on solo homers from Akron’s Joe Lampe and Alex Mooney in the second inning, the Senators quickly answered. In the bottom of the third, Seaver King lined an RBI single to center, then Branden Boissiere crushed a two-run homer to right-center, giving Harrisburg a 3-2 lead.

The Senators tacked on two more in the fifth when Boissiere drove in his third run of the night and Sam Brown followed with an RBI single to make it 5-2. Boissiere finished 2-for-3 with a homer, three RBI, and a walk, leading the way offensively. Jonathon Thomas, Seaver King and Carlos De La Cruz all chipped in with two hits.

Hyun-il Choi (7-5) earned the win with six solid innings, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out two. Samuel Vasquez tossed two scoreless innings of relief before Junior Santos worked the ninth, allowing a solo homer to Jake Fox but finishing off his 11th save.
