HOW IT HAPPENED:

In the bottom of the first, Round Rock 2B Justin Foscue drew a two-out walk then 1B Rowdy Tellez belted his second home run with the Express for a 2-0 edge.

Albuquerque answered in the second as DH Sterlin Thompson led off with a walk and SS Owen Miller homered to tie the game at two apiece.

The Express put two runners on via walks in the bottom of the frame setting up a CF Dustin Harris double to break the tie. Round Rock led 3-2 after two frames.

Round Rock LF Trevor Hauver led off the fourth with a single and RF Billy McKinney followed with a double. C Konner Piotto drove the two in with a single up the middle, extending Round Rock’s lead to 5-2.

Albuquerque 2B Adael Amador got aboard with a double to start the fifth and moved to third on a passed ball. 1B Warming Bernabel’s groundout allowed Amador to come home, cutting the deficit to 5-3.

The Isotopes scratched another run across in the top of the sixth. With two runners aboard, 2B Adael Amador tallied a RBI single and Albuquerque trailed by one.

Albuquerque 3B Aaron Schunk led off the top of the eighth with a double and advanced to third on LF Braiden Ward’s sacrifice bunt. RF Zac Veen grounded out to second allowing Schunk to score and tie the game at five.

In the bottom of the ninth, Harris got on with a single and moved into scoring position with a stolen base. Harris was stranded, moving it to Round Rock’s 12th extra-inning game of the year.

Albuquerque C Drew Romo drove DH Sterlin Thompson in with a single and two more runs came around on Amador’s base hit up the middle. The Isotopes led 8-5 heading into the bottom of the 10th.

Round Rock had Foscue on second base to start the home half. OF Kellen Strahm walked and 3B Cody Freeman singled to load the bases. A wild pitch allowed Foscue to score. After a single for OF Trevor Hauver loaded the bases again, PH Blaine Crim hit a booming double off the wall to tie the game.

After RHP Peyton Gray threw a scoreless 11th inning, PR Alan Trejo entered to start on second base. He moved to third on a ground out for Foscue and Strahm singled on the first pitch he saw to win the game, 9-8.

E-TRAIN EXCERPTS:

LATE NIGHTS: Friday night marked the E-Train’s 12th extra-inning game this season, matching 2024’s total. Round Rock is now 7-2 at home and 8-4 overall in extra-inning games in 2025.

SUMMER SWINGING: 3B Cody Freeman went 2-for-5 with a run on Friday night. Freeman is now batting .310 (9-29) with two home runs, a double, five RBI, five runs and a walk in July. He has struck out just twice in 32 plate appearances this month.
