PENSACOLA, FL – The Miami Marlins announced on Thursday their 2025 Minor League organizational awards, with outfielder Kemp Alderman named Minor League Player of the Year, left-handed pitcher Robby Snelling named Minor League Pitcher of the Year, and left-handed pitcher Thomas White named Double-A MVP.

Alderman, 23, was selected by the Marlins in the second round of the 2023 Draft out of the University of Mississippi and is currently rated the #10 prospect in the organization according to MLB Pipeline. In a team-leading 110 games for the Blue Wahoos in 2025, Alderman batted .282/.337/.447 with 15 home runs and 53 RBI. Though he was promoted to Triple-A Jacksonville with two weeks remaining in Pensacola’s season, Alderman finished second in the Southern League in slugging percentage (.447), third in total bases (184) and triples (5), fourth in OPS (.784), fifth in batting average (.282), tied for sixth in home runs (15), and seventh in hits (116). He earned Southern League Player of the Week honors three times (4/7, 6/2 and 8/4) to set a Blue Wahoos franchise record.

Snelling, 21, was Pensacola’s Opening Day starter after joining the organization at the 2024 trade deadline in a deal with the San Diego Padres. Miami’s #4 prospect according to MLB Pipeline impressed with the Blue Wahoos, going 3-5 with a 3.61 ERA in 14 starts before a promotion to Triple-A Jacksonville in July. Snelling struck out 85 batters in 72.1 innings, and twice earned Southern League Pitcher of the Week honors (5/26 and 6/30).

White, 20, was Miami’s 35th overall pick in the 2023 Draft and dominated the Southern League upon his arrival from High-A Beloit in late June. Currently rated the #1 prospect in the Marlins organization, #21 overall and top-ranked left-handed pitcher in baseball according to MLB Pipeline, White went 2-1 with a 1.59 ERA in 10 Double-A starts before a promotion to Triple-A Jacksonville in early September. White struck out 75 batters in 45.1 innings, held opponents to a .183 average, and earned both Southern League Pitcher of the Week (9/1) and Pitcher of the Month (August) honors. White’s 14 strikeouts over 5.0 scoreless innings on July 26 in Knoxville tied for the most for any pitcher in a MiLB game this season.

Additionally, right-handed pitcher Karson Milbrandt was named High-A Beloit’s team MVP. Milbrandt, 21, joined the Blue Wahoos for his final two starts of the season in September and went 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA in two Double-A starts after going 2-5 with a 3.26 ERA in 19 starts for the Sky Carp. Milbrandt is currently rated the #18 prospect in the Marlins organization according to MLB Pipeline.

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos begin their 2026 season on Friday, April 3 as they welcome the Montgomery Biscuits, Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, to Blue Wahoos Stadium.
