2025 Pelicans Cheer Team

Cheerleaders

Amelia Burgess

Amelia is a second year cheerleader for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. She has two years of jazz, tap, ballet, and three years of gymnastics under her belt and aspires to be a cheerleader and a kindergarten teacher. Amelia is outgoing and full of energy. She enjoys helping her mom at work events because there are big trucks involved and lots of people to talk to. She loves to dance, sing, spend time with her friends, dress up, go to the beach, travel, fish with her dad, and arts/crafts. She loves being a cheerleader and cheering on our local team! Go Pelicans!

Avarie Jackson

Avarie is a second year Pelicans Cheerleader and she loves rooting for the birds! Her favorite game time snack is Dippin’ Dots or boiled peanuts, and in her free time she likes to go to the beach and pool, play with her friends, and make crafts. She loves school, but is looking forward to a summer of cheer and baseball!

Brianna Stanley

Brianna is a happy, loving and energetic child that loves making new friends. She enjoys singing and dance. Bri loves going to art classes and ninja practice. She is always up for a day at the park, aquarium or beach. This is her first year doing cheerleading and is excited to a part of the Pelican Team!

Charli Utley

Charli brings big energy and an even bigger heart to the Pelicans cheer team! A passionate dancer, she shines in hip hop, ballet, and tap, and she’s also a proud member of her school’s cheer squad. When she’s not dancing or cheering, Charli enjoys spending time with her family and friends, relaxing at the pool or beach, and caring for kids, babies, and animals. She’s thrilled to cheer on the Myrtle Beach Pelicans this season and can’t wait to bring the fun and spirit to the field!

Charlotte Baisden

Charlotte is the most vibrant little diva around. She loves playing sports with her sisters, but her greatest love is cheerleading. This is her fourth year with Myrtle Beach Pelicans Cheer and Dance Team and she absolutely loves it. In her spare time she loves spending time with her sisters, her friends and swimming. Go Pelicans!

Chloe Baisden

Chloe is a loving and energetic little girl. She enjoys softball, cheerleading gymnastics and dancing. In her spare time, she loves playing with her sisters and swimming. She has been a recreational and All-star cheerleader for many years. She is very proud and excited to be a eighth-year member on the Myrtle Beach pelicans cheer and dance team. Go Pelicans!

Chloe Lint

Chloe is a fun, caring and thoughtful friend to everyone she meets. She enjoys horseback riding, Girl Scouts, and hanging out with her friends. She is an honor roll student and is in the tech club and drama club at her school. Chloe is excited to cheer with her friends for the pelicans for the second year in a row. Go Pelicans!

Emberlynn Fesperman

Emberlynn has been dancing for eight years, doing jazz, tap, acro, lyrical, musical theater, and Ballet. She is in RAD level five and has won both bronze and silver medals. She loves narwhals, elephants, and spiders. She is a girly girl who loves the color pink and really enjoys cheerleading. This is Emberlynn's fifth year as a Pelican Cheerleader and loves being in front of a crowd performing!

Estella Newman

Estella is in her third season as a proud Pelicans cheerleader! A passionate performer since the age of 2, she is also a competitive dancer with many regional and national awards. Estella also enjoys journaling, drawing, beach days, pizza nights, and spending time with her family. She is so excited to be back cheering for another season, Go Pelicans!

Hailey McGuire

Hailey is a first year cheerleader for the Pelicans’ cheer team. She currently cheers for her middle school and loves to cheer competitively too. Hailey also enjoys going to the beach and hanging out with her friends. Go Pelicans!

Hailey Ryan

Hailey loves anything that involves dancing, cheering, flips and cartwheels. This is Hailey’s first year as a cheerleader but has been in dance and gymnastics since the age of 3. Hip hop is her choice of dance style. Haley is the happiest, sweetest, caring, most outgoing and loving little girl. She loves to make new friends and is so excited for her first year being a part of the Pelicans cheer team this year. Go Pelicans!

Harper Donohue

Harper is a first year cheerleader for the Pelicans’ cheer team. She loves to dance, swim, and arts and crafts. She has taken ballet and tap dance right before switching over to cheerleading. She is very spunky and enjoys spending time with her family and friends! She is excited to be a part of the Pelicans’ cheer team, make new friends, memories, and have fun! GO PELICANS!

Madison Stiles

Madison is a first year cheerleader for the Pelicans’ cheer team. She is also a cheerleader for her middle school team. She has been dancing for eight years doing ballet, lyrical, tap, and hip hop. She is very driven and always puts forth her best effort. She is a straight A student, a member of the Beta Club, and active in her church youth group. She loves spending time with her family and friends, and she loves cheering on the Pelicans!

Madyson Morneau

Madyson is enjoying her first year as a Pelicans Cheer Team member. She has been cheering for a year and really loves it. Madyson is a kind, friendly, and hardworking young lady. If she is not watching, talking, or competing in cheer; she is hanging with her sister, going to the beach, making dance videos, doing makeup, or being outdoors. Madyson loves getting to perform for the Pelican Baseball Team and cheering them on! Go Pelicans!

McKinley Delval

McKinley truly has a heart of gold. She is an extremely caring, and compassionate young lady! She loves animals, as much as she does humans! She enjoys drawing, crafts, swimming, and all things fashion. She was born with her own sense of style, and was made to sparkle! She is looking forward to another season with the Pelicans!!

Neavea Ashlyn Hughes

Nevaeh is lovable, kind, sociable and energetic. This is her second year cheering for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Cheer and Dance Team. Nevaeh loves swimming, cooking, dancing, singing, and doing gymnastics. In her free time she loves hanging out with family and friends. Nevaeh is excited to show her support for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Baseball Team and the opportunity to make new friends.

Nicole Whyland

Nicole loves singing, dancing, golfing, surfing, and girls scouts. She also loves being a member of a softball Team, the Awana club, and cheerleading. Nicole models and acts; some credits include: Starz's Hightown, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Sparkles Boutique, and more. Nicole recently performed in some local theatre plays- Matilda, Cinderella and the Wizard of Oz, where she held leading roles. Nicole loves trying new things and being outgoing; she especially loves spending time with her family and friends. Nicole is thrilled to be a ten-year member of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Cheer and Dance Team!

Pepper Pinkerton

Pepper is a 3rd year cheerleader for the Pelican's Cheer Team. She loves to cheer, swim, and golf in her free time. She loves helping animals and fosters with a local animal rescue. Her favorite animal her is dog. She looks forward to cheering for the Pelican's this summer and for many years to come!

Peyton Bilodeau

Peyton is a super energetic and loving of all things dance and spotlight! She’s heading into 3rd grade this year and also her 3rd year being a pelicans cheerleader! Between her love for pelicans cheerleading she is also a gymnast and has been apart of the beach team gymnastic program for 5 years! Pey is so excited for this season with the pelicans and all the years to come!

Scarlett Crowe

Scarlett is a first year cheerleader for the Pelicans’ cheer team. She is also a cheerleader for her middle school team and plays JV soccer for the high school . She danced for 10 years prior to cheering. She is a straight A honor student. Scarlett loves spending time with her family and friends whether it be at the beach, the pool, or on the river. Go Pelicans!

Sophia Boruch

Sophia is a beach-loving, paint-splattering, dance-anywhere kind of girl who’s full of sunshine and sparkle! This is her first year as a cheerleader and she is already obsessed with pom-poms and high kicks. She loves swimming, creating colorful masterpieces, and dancing like nobody’s watching. She is always smiling, always shining, and is a little ray of light! She is super excited to be a Pelican Cheerleader, and cheering on our Pelicans Team!

Mascots

Mason McLaurin

Mason is an energetic boy that loves to make people smile. He plays baseball, basketball, soccer and takes karate. He is excited to be the cheer team's Mascot (Or Bodyguard!) and to cheer on his sister and represent the Pelicans in the community.

Remi Fesperman

Remi is all boy who loves the outdoors and not only watching but playing sports. He plays football and is a purple belt in karate. He is very happy to help support the Pelicans especially with his big sister being a cheerleader. He is a very adventurous lil boy who loves to travel. Also a gentleman who will hold the door open for the anyone and makes sure to help clean and put things away. Even though his sister is the cheerleader he is one of her biggest supporters by going to all her games and recitals.

Savannah Baisden

Savannah, known as Savi, is the baby sister! All of her sisters are Pelican cheerleaders! She is the boss of everyone and loves cheering with her sisters. She is energetic and loves to smile. She is so excited to be a mascot for the Pelican's Cheer team, since she has been cheering for them since birth! Go Pelicans!

Owners and Coaches

Gabrielle Shaw - Coach

Gabrielle is a Myrtle Beach native and a CCU alum. Gabrielle teaches third grade at Socastee Elementary and is the cheerleading coach at Forestbrook Middle. She was a competitive cheerleader for 7 years and has won numerous national championships before moving on to cheer in college. In the past, Gabrielle has coached all star cheer as well as a JV competitive cheer team. In her spare time, she enjoys spending the days with her husband and their daughter, going to the beach, and reading.

Marley McLaurin - JR Coach

Marley is a free spirited, outgoing, Honor Roll Student. She prides herself on being kind to everyone, is devoted to community service and runs her own Charity organization, THE BETTER TOGETHER INITIATIVE and is a Youth Advocate for a national anti-bullying nonprofit, Free2Luv. Marley has been recognized by the mayor, the Governor and the President for her work in the community and in 2020 she was named South Carolina's top middle school aged volunteer. Marley presented a TEDTalk at Coastal Carolina University. She loves to sing and dance, she has performed at Broadway at the Beach, the Skywheel and Legends in Concert. She also has performed with Michael Franti & Spearhead and has opened for Nickelodeon's Reed Shannon and The Temptations' Louis Price. Marley can be seen locally in ads for the SC Children's Museum, Sparkles, Broadway at the Beach, the Simpsons 4D and Barefoot Landing. In addition to cheering, she also plays basketball, soccer and volleyball and she is a member of the Surf Dreams Foundation surf team. She enjoys tumbling, cooking, swimming and spending time with friends and family. Marley is excited to be a Nine year member of the Pelicans Cheer and Dance Team, and a second year Junior Coach for the Pelican Cheer team, and is excited for a great season with her friends!

Samantha Whyland - JR Coach

Samantha is a sociable young lady. She is a former member of the Trenton Thunder Baseball Dance team. She is active in school , as well as participating in Cheer, Soccer, Girl Scouts, surfing, tumbling, and more. Samantha models and acts; some credits include: Showtime's Nurse Jackie, HBO's The Deuce, NBC's Manifest and Mysteries of Laura, SYFY's Happy!,Cordizone 10 Cream commercial, NY's Montefiore Hospital commercial, PSA appearances for BIC Supplies, Pandemic Kids, and others, an ABC Channel 15 News- Guest Kid Weather Caster with Emmy Nominated weatherman Ed Piotrowski, Gap Kids, Barefoot Landing, Sparkles Boutique, and more. She loves to perform, she has performed at Broadway at the Beach, the Asher Theatre, Country and State Fairs and more. She also has held many Beauty Pageants titles too. Samantha is thrilled to be a nine year member of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Cheer and Dance Team. This is Samantha's second year as Junior Coach, and she is loving taking on this new type of role, and making new friends and having all these great new experiences!

Samantha Baisden - Junior Coach

Samantha is a very fun-loving girl that loves tennis, softball, cheerleading, and lacrosse. In her spare time she loves to read, play with her little sisters and swim. She has been a recreational and All-star cheerleader. She loves staying active in the community and loves being a part of the Myrtle Beach pelicans dance and cheer team, first as a member and as a Junior Coach. Go Pelicans!

Amanda Whyland - Owner

Amanda is a teacher, Tutor and Business owner. She has coached cheerleading, gymnastic, softball, soccer, swimming and diving; and has worked throughout the years in multiple camps and organizations focused on working with children of all levels and abilities. Amanda has a professional background in Politics and Business- having worked on a state political level, owning an event planning business, managing a high-profile business operation and running the business side of a company with multiple accounts with prominent clients. She is a board member for the City of Myrtle Beach, her former colleges and her High School. Amanda is also a member of her daughters' School PTAs, School Improvement Committees, a Girl Scout Leader, as well as, the Co-Chair of her High School Reunion Committee. Amanda is elated to be a founding owner of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Cheer and Dance Team and looks forward to another great season!

Summer Mclaurin - Community Outreach Director

Summer is an active member of the community. She is the marketing director for Sparkles at Broadway at the Beach and Tanger Outlets, She is the community outreach director for the Pelicans Cheer Team. She is also heavily involved with fundraisers and charity events with her daughter's community service club, The Better Together Initiative. Summer is looking forward to helping the team get involved more with community events and teaching the squad the importance of giving back.

Lennie Baisden - Staff

Lennie is a Marshall University Alum and is a Professor at HGTC. She is very active in the community including the PTO at Ten Oaks. She has four daughters and they have all been involved with the Pelican cheer Team for many years. She is in involved with many community events and highly values giving back to the community. She is always on the go between lacrosse, softball, cheer and much more. Lennie is really excited to be a Staff member of the Pelican Cheer and Dance Team.
