Wappingers Falls, N.Y. (Oct. 15, 2025) – Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc., announced the finalists for the 2025 Rawlings Gold Glove Award®, honoring the best individual fielding performances at each position in the American League® and National League®.
While the award originated in 1957, Rawlings first began highlighting the top three defenders at each position as finalists in 2011. This season, the Toronto Blue Jays lead the AL and the Chicago Cubs topped the NL, with six finalists each.
The Hudson Valley Renegades boast two former players among the finalists in 2025, with catcher Carlos Narvaez (2021-22) and shortstop Taylor Walls (2017) among the nominees in the American League. Additionally, Luis Severino and Tommy Pham, each of whom played for the Renegades on MLB Rehab Assignments were tabbed as finalists at AL Pitcher and NL Left Fielder, respectively.
Narvaez, 26, played in 95 games with the Renegades between the 2021 and 2022 seasons, batting .215/.334/.391 with 13 home runs and providing stellar defense behind the plate. After debuting with the Yankees in 2024, Narvaez spent his rookie season in 2025 with the Boston Red Sox after an offseason trade in exchange for pitcher Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz.
Walls, 29, was a key member of the Renegades’ 2017 New York-Penn League Championship team, batting .213/.330/.287 in 46 regular season games, but turned it on to bat .450/.542/.700 during the postseason. He was drafted in the third round of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays out of Florida State, and has spent the last five seasons in the majors with the Rays.
The Renegades alumni have won six Gold Gloves all-time, with Nathaniel Lowe (AL 1B) and Anthony Volpe (AL SS) winning in 2023. The winners will be unveiled during a one-hour, special-edition “Baseball Tonight” broadcast on ESPN Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, at 8:30 p.m. ET.
