The Harrisburg Senators closed their road series in Chesapeake on a winning note Sunday afternoon, defeating the Baysox 6–3 at Prince George’s Stadium.
Jake Bennett delivered five shutout innings to earn his first win with the Senators, while the Senators’ bats came through with timely hits. Cayden Wallace and Carlos De La Cruz each drove in runs, with De La Cruz’s two-run double in the fifth sparking a three-run inning that opened up the game. Wallace later added a clutch RBI single in the ninth for insurance.
Johnathon Thomas chipped in with two hits, an RBI, and his 18th stolen base, while Phillip Glasser collected a hit, an RBI, and swiped two bags, pushing his season total to 30. In all, the Senators piled up 13 hits and forced Chesapeake pitchers into seven walks.
Bennett (1–2) scattered three hits and three strikeouts over his five scoreless frames. After Creed Willems’ homer in the sixth cut into the lead, the Baysox rallied with two more runs in the eighth to pull within 5–3. Samuel Vasquez entered and shut the door, retiring the final four batters for his first save of the season.
