Senators Stymied by Baysox in Series Opener
The Harrisburg Senators’ bats stayed quiet Tuesday night in a 5–1 loss to the Chesapeake Baysox at Prince George’s Stadium.
Chesapeake struck early when Thomas Sosa launched a two-run homer in the first, and the Baysox never looked back. Starter Jake Bennett (0–2) allowed four runs over five innings while striking out seven, but the early deficit proved too much for Harrisburg’s offense.
The Senators managed just four hits, with their lone run coming in the sixth on a sacrifice fly from Sam Brown. Branden Boissiere reached base three times, collecting a single and two walks.
Chesapeake tacked on insurance with Sosa’s RBI single in the seventh, while their bullpen shut down Harrisburg’s late chances. The Senators finished 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.
