The Harrisburg Senators battled back with a dramatic three-run eighth inning to erase a deficit, but the Chesapeake Baysox answered in the ninth with a walk-off sacrifice fly to hand Harrisburg a 4-3 loss Saturday night at Prince George’s Stadium.
Austin Overn’s three-run homer in the third inning staked Chesapeake to an early lead, and Baysox starter Juaron Watts-Brown was sharp, holding Harrisburg hitless through 5.2 innings. The Senators finally broke through in the eighth, taking advantage of wildness from Chesapeake relievers. After a run scored on a wild pitch, Seaver King and Kevin Made each drove in runs with sacrifice flies to tie the game, 3-3.
But in the bottom of the ninth, Griff O’Ferrall singled to start the rally, and after two walks loaded the bases, Carter Young delivered the game-ending sac fly off Junior Santos.
