The Harrisburg Senators couldn’t generate enough offense Wednesday night at FNB Field, falling 5–1 to the Akron RubberDucks.
Akron broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning, pushing across three runs against Senators Erik Tolman. Christian Knapczyk delivered an RBI single, and Ralphy Velazquez followed with a two-run double to right, giving the RubberDucks a 3–0 lead. Alex Mooney later added an RBI single in the sixth, and Wuilfredo Antunez’s sacrifice fly in the seventh stretched the advantage to 5–1.
Harrisburg’s lone run came in the bottom of the sixth when Johnathon Thomas singled and stole second before scoring on a base hit from Seaver King. The Senators had eight hits on the night, led by Caleb Lomavita and Delino DeShields with two apiece, but they stranded eight runners.
Rorik Maltrud earned the win for Akron, tossing five shutout innings while allowing just three hits. Tolman took the loss, surrendering four runs over 3.1 innings. Jake Eder started for the Senators and tossed two scoreless innings.
