Major League Baseball's postseason is set to begin today with the Wild Card Round, featuring up to 27 former Bulls players across all ten clubs competing as either players or coaches. 14 of those 27 alums are on National League squads, while 13 are featured on American League teams.
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox each boast four former Bulls on their rosters heading into the playoffs, while the Philadelphia Phillies, Milwaukee Brewers, Seattle Mariners, and Cleveland Guardians each feature a trio of former Durham players.
The list also includes several players who played in the postseason during their time with Durham, including a pair of Seattle Mariners in 2021-22 Bulls infielder/outfielder Miles Mastrobuoni and 2022 Bulls outfielder Luke Raley. Boston Red Sox infielder Nathaniel Lowe and outfielder also won a Governors' Cup title with Durham in 2018, while Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Nathan Lukes and Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Tobias Myers were part of the 2021 Triple-A National Championship squad. Right-hander Jose De Leon and left-hander Ryan Yarbrough were also members of the 2017 Triple-A National Championship Title squad.
Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Ben Rortvedt is the most recent Durham alum, having played in 19 games with the Bulls earlier this season.
