Bulls outfielder Cooper Hummel has been named the International League's Player of the Week for the time period of September 2-7, as announced by Major League Baseball on Monday afternoon. The 30-year-old is the third member of the Bulls' 2025 squad to earn weekly league honors after right-hander Joe Boyle (April 13-20, May 12-18, June 2-8) and infielder Bob Seymour (June 9-15).

Hummel in six games during that span hit .500 (9-18) with eight runs, one double, one triple, four homers and eight RBI, adding five walks compared to four strikeouts, along with a 1.958 OPS. He recorded two consecutive two-homer games between September 3-4, in addition to tallying at least one hit in five of those six contests. Among all qualified full-season minor league hitters, Hummel ranked first in SLG (1.333) and OPS, in addition to ranking tied for first in homers and extra-base hits (six), second in total bases (24), tied for fourth in runs scored, and seven in OBP (.625).

Since joining the Bulls on August 19, Hummel has posted a .328 average (19-58), adding 17 runs, one double, two triples, eight homers and 16 RBI, along with a 1.308 OPS. He ranks tied for first among all qualified full-season minor league players in that time frame in homers, in addition to third in SLG (.828) and OPS, and sixth in total bases (48).

Hummel is the third Bulls player this year to earn weekly league honors. Right-hander Joe Boyle has been named International League Pitcher of the Week on three separate occasions in 2025, while infielder Bob Seymour was tabbed International League Player of the Week for the period between June 9-15.

Following their Monday off day, Durham returns to the DBAP to begin their final homestand of the 2025 campaign on Tuesday, September 9, as they host the Norfolk Tides, the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. First pitch of the series opener is scheduled for 6:35pm.
