The absolute best WNY summer tradition, the 29th Annual KeyBank Independence Eve Celebration with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Largest Fireworks Show returns Thursday, July 3rd as the Bisons host the Rochester Red Wings (6:05 p.m. | Gates 4:30 p.m.)
The KeyBank Independence Eve Celebration features the best that America has to offer. Our national pastime played out between two great rivals, a great post game concert from the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and our Largest Fireworks Show of the Season.
This great event began 30 years ago and in 2025, the Bisons independence Eve will reach a half a million in total attendance! With this event reaching this great milestone, one lucky fan in attendance will be chosen to throw the game's Ceremonial First Pitch and receive a $500 Bisons Gift Card. So be sure to get to the ballpark early on Thursday!
This year's event will also feature a pregame Mini American Flag Giveaway to the first 1,500 fans in attendance (all gates | 4:30 p.m.).
No KeyBank Independence Eve concert would be complete without several numbers to honor our brave servicemen and servicewomen, including our tradition of featuring the Armed Forces Salute. This years pop culture tributes include Wicked, Back to the Future and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (accompanied by an on-field performance from the 716 Dance Lab (Lancaster, NY). The KeyBank Independence Eve Celebration will see its 500,00th fan on Thursday night. In tribute, one of the event's biggest fans has been given the night's biggest honor. Lackawanna-native Elizabeth Gannon, 99, will throw the First Pitch for her 27th consecutive July 3rd game.
