Was a non-roster invitee to Yankees' Spring Training before beginning the season at Double-A Somerset... in 10 games with the Patriots, he went 4-5 with a 2.38 ERA in 53 innings before the Yankees sent him to Triple-A, where he joined Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for a start on June 7... the Yankees called him up to make his Major League debut about a month later on July 9 after designating Geoff Hartlieb for assignment... Schlittler was ranked as the Yankees' No. 10 prospect at the time of the promotion, as ranked by MLB Pipeline

Made 25 combined appearances (23 starts) with High-A Hudson Valley, Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Double-A Somerset, going 8-8 with a 3.36 ERA (120.2IP, 98H, 58R/45ER, 55BB, 154K, 10HR)… led Yankees farmhands in strikeouts, was tied for third in wins, ranked fifth in opponents’ BA (.218), sixth in innings pitched and tied for sixth in games started… spent the majority of the season with Hudson Valley, going 6-4 with a 2.60 ERA (86.2IP, 60H, 34R/25ER, 38BB, 108K, 7HR) over 17 starts… opposing batters hit .191 (60-for-314)… following the season, was named a South Atlantic League Postseason All-Star and was named the league’s “Pitcher of the Year”
